Personality
Pixie is one of the biggest of our foals and is very pretty.  Although she seems very grown up she is still quite timid around people.  She is very gentle and not cheeky like some of the boys.  She spends a lot of time grazing with Trixie who comes from the same herd on the Moor.

Pixie will be staying with us permanently and will form part of our base herd.  We hope that when we take on next years foals Pixie will be able to help give them some of the stability they’ll need.  When Pixie is around four years old we will start getting her used to wearing a saddle and being ridden.

In the next few weeks Pixie will be starting her ‘education’ and this will involve learning to have a headcollar on, to be lead around, to be stroked and to pick all her feet up

Pixie is one of the mares who will form the base herd.  She is a very sweet natured pony and a lot larger than the others, we believe she was an early foal last year.  Natalie put her headcollar on in the stable again with hay being used as a bribe!  She took to it very well.  She will follow us around and is very affectionate though getting a little nippy at the moment, she likes to put her teeth around wellies!  She loves her food, and eats faster than any of the other ponies, probably because she is so much bigger than them!

Pixie has turned in to a very calm and gentle pony.  She is also the largest of them.  She will allow us to catch her though she does have her moments when she doesn’t want to be caught!  She will let you stand and scratch her for hours but as soon as you get within a millimetre of clicking on the leadrope she will move her head!  She is very clever!  However she soon comes round given time and enjoys a groom.  She will allow us to groom her and pick up her feet and is fine for the equine podiatrist.  She it great friends with Pippin and Basil who are our most timid ponies, I often think they plot together to decide how they can evade us!!
