All the ponies are progressing well.  They all now have headcollars on and have been wormed.  Our strategy for getting headcollars on them varied with each pony as some are more bold than others, we needed to make sure we didn’t traumatise them which may have resulted in them having bad associations with us.  With some we made sure a pony was with them for reassurance.

We were also careful with the worming and managed to do this my herding three at a time in to the pen and then separating one into the stable.  Natalie then put the lead rope on whilst Kathryn wormed them.  None of them even seemed to notice what had happened.  We had a bucket of feed ready for them after being syringed with wormer to ensure it all went down correctly!

We have started giving them small amounts of hard feed to ensure they are getting the correct vitamins and minerals.  A ponies early years are extremely important in bone growth and we need to ensure they are getting all they need particularly whilst there is little grass in the field.  They now all come running at the sight of a bucket!  Even when it is just being used to pick up poo!

They are all very hairy at the moment, and as are we as their coats are moulting ready for the summer and we are getting covered!
