We have wanted to take on some more ponies for a while. We want to establish a base herd of 2 male and 2 female ponies that we keen on permanently. The main reason for this is so that when we take on ponies from next years sales we can put them straight in with an established stable herd. We feel that this helps to minimise the trauma they have experienced from being taken away from their mothers, and the trauma of the sales. We also wanted to take on some older ponies that could help Socks, Star, Basil and Reggie feel a bit more secure and happy in their new home.

We took on 2 colts and 2 fillies from a local farmer, and moved them over to the new field today. As soon as they arrived, they ran over to meet Socks, Star, Basil and Reggie. They all had a good sniff of each other and then a bit of a run around.

The names of the 4 new ones are Merry, Pippin (these two are half-brothers) Pixie and Trixie. Here are some pictures of them! They are settling in remarkably well, and they are getting on very well with Socks, Star, Basil and Reggie.
